Having now seen Ryan weekly over a number of sessions, I can confidently say my initial impression was absolutely justified.
My shoulder issues are not straightforward. I have a long history of Olympic lifting, chronic shoulder dysfunction, significant compensation patterns, and major tendon reconstruction surgery on my left shoulder. Over time this led to substantial overcompensation on my right side, creating tightness, trigger points, restricted movement, poor tissue quality, and persistent pain around the scapular region.
Ryan has taken a genuinely clinical and structured approach to the rehabilitation process. Across multiple sessions he has worked extensively through my shoulders, chest, lats, traps, rhomboids, triceps, and biceps, always treating the shoulder girdle as a complete functional system rather than focusing on isolated muscles. His understanding of how compensation patterns develop and how they affect movement has been particularly impressive.
The results have been significant. The pain and discomfort around my scapular area has reduced substantially, my range of motion has improved, tissue tone is noticeably better, and for the first time in a long while I can move comfortably without constantly being aware of restrictions or irritation around the joint.
More recently we introduced dry needling once the larger issues had been addressed through manual therapy. I was slightly apprehensive beforehand, but the process was virtually painless. More importantly, several of the deeper trigger points that had been resistant to treatment became noticeably smaller, with the benefits becoming increasingly apparent over the following days.
What I particularly appreciate is that Ryan understands rehabilitation is a process rather than a quick fix. As the tissue quality improves and the shoulder complex begins to function more normally, new compensations and trigger points can emerge as the body adapts. He continually reassesses, adjusts the treatment plan, and focuses on the next limiting factor rather than applying the same approach every session.
Beyond the treatment itself, Ryan has also provided practical advice on modifying my training to support recovery, helping me continue exercising while reducing the risk of reinforcing the very compensation patterns we're trying to correct.
I've worked with many sports therapists, physiotherapists, and rehabilitation specialists over the years. Very few combine the anatomical knowledge, hands on skill, and rehabilitation mindset that Ryan demonstrates. If you're a serious lifter, athlete, or someone dealing with complex long term shoulder issues rather than a simple strain or niggle, I would have no hesitation recommending him. He's made a meaningful difference to a problem I've been managing for years, and we're continuing to make progress every week. - Bradley Clifford·
I went to Ryan with a sore right hand side of my back he knew exactly what to do and his worked paid off I am now fully back on my gym plan and gaining lots more strength than I could have when I was carrying this injury so THANK YOU SO MUCH RYAN!

Very good. Hadn’t been for a massage for a few and knew I needed one.
Was expecting pain, however the pain wasn’t as bad as I expected. Ryan was very good knows what he is doing and could tell when the pain level would increase for.
Enjoyable in the end and will be going back
